Community Service

Serving the community is a significant part of who I am as a person because it enables me to give back in the most personally significant ways. I think the most significant impact related to service is ongoing and connects in a genuine manner.

I coordinate and present concerts for two senior centers in Andover—the Atria Marland Place and the Robb Senior Center—and in the process, I have learned the importance of responsibility, communication, and empathy as I engage with senior residents. These concerts have also provided them with an opportunity to share in music.

These experiences have proved to me that service requires not just the power of skills but also the power of listening and presence in the lives of others. These concerts have also improved my sense of leadership and purpose in making a positive impact in my community.
